Stand and Deliver is a course for people who know a great deal about the ‘what’ of communication but would like to develop the ‘how’.
It helps participants communicate in a style that matches their content and does justice to the information and evidence at their command.
Course participants discover how to speak with greater power and authority in formal and informal contexts, adapting their approach as necessary. They learn presentation and facilitation skills that give them an edge in a challenging environment, with obvious career benefits.
The focus is generally on the following topics, although the content can be refined in consultation with the client:
- Gaining confidence as a public speaker
- Connecting with audiences
- Convey complex information and challenging ideas with clarity
- Dealing with nerves and coping with pressure
- Strengthening vocal and physical presence
- Effective preparation and rehearsal
- Influencing others
- Finding your natural communication style
Many of the skills that participants acquire or extend are readily transferable to other contexts.
What our clients say
Six months after my last coaching session with Pete I am still applying what I learnt. Pete is a creative coach with an inspiring array of tools and experience to call upon when coaching clients. Our sessions were focussed, creative and challenging, helping me to target those areas of my professional life I want to develop further.
On the day of the interview I was barely nervous (which is very unusual for me), very confident and performed very well…in fact I would say ended up enjoying it. They have awarded me a fellowship, so it must have worked!
We were all given very constructive feedback by our VOX coach, and got the chance to perfect our presentation skills in front of an honest audience. It was a great opportunity to make mistakes in a friendly environment.
